Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since I have last posted a blog. With everything opening up, I’m sure we are all quite busy!

Continuing ‘The Story of’ series, I am so excited to have Kezia from The Boho Bride. I have had the pleasure of working with Kezia on a couple of projects for different shoots.

Kezia designs bohemian, modern bespoke pieces that showcases who you are and have every gorgeous detail you will want in your bridalwear. Her vision in creating bespoke bridalwear and her work ethic, is qualities I truly admire and I can’t wait for you all to know more about her story! Welcome to the blog Kezia!

Any thoughts on a Movie wedding you would love to create?

I would love to work with a bride on her dress for a beach wedding, I think the Florrie dress would look incredible on the beach with Aria underneath, perhaps an adaptation to Florrie to have a really long romantic train, this would be gorgeous!! I imagine it to be set on a stunning white sandy beach surrounded by dried flowers set out on the sand and a big drift wood and pampas arch at the end of the aisle.

Is there a moment, when you knew you wanted to design bridalwear?

I fell in love with sewing at school, and went onto study costume construction at university because I just love the idea of creating a garment to meet the exact needs of an individual. In costume this is obviously for a character and you look into their personality traits, background and style to create something that perfectly portrays them. I came to realise how well this lends itself to bridal wear, to get to know a bride, her likes, dislikes and dream ideas for her wedding dress in order to create something that is exactly as she’s always imagined for her special day. To be able to then create something that flatters and fits that individual well is also so so important, and rewarding!! So it’s been a gradual journey into bridal wear, but I realised that I wanted to have the freedom to use my own ideas and go on that creative journey one to one with a bride rather than being directed by a large team of creatives for a big production.

When designing your pieces, where do you look for inspiration?

I love a good scroll through Pinterest to get an idea of what brides are currently loving, what other crazy ideas designers have come up with and where the trends are heading. I also find that I take inspiration from the beach, from the patterns and textures found by the sea and movement in waves etc, that then (hopefully) is reflected in my designs.

What advice would you give to brides when they are trying to find their dress for their wedding?

Go with what you love!! Don’t let other people opinions change your mind, yes it’s good to get advice on what suits you etc but at the end of the day its your super special day and you want to have a dress that you’ve always dreamed of and feel amazing in, not one that your best friend loves or your mother in law thinks is fab! Also, chat to your bridal designer, I love discussing ideas with brides and coming up with designs or adaptations together, that seems to be where the best ideas come from.

Can you describe what you think it is that connects you to brides when they are looking for wedding dress?

I think my designs represent a free spirited, relaxed wedding vibe and I hope that that’s what bohemian loving brides can find when they come to me. I also aim to be super open and approachable and hope that brides feel comfortable discussing all the options with me to make sure they’re reassured, happy and super excited about receiving their dress.

Your process is so unique! Can you tell us more about the process of creating bespoke pieces.

My bridal company is all based online so if you’ve seen one of my designs that you like but think there’s something extra you want adding and you can’t put your finger on it just yet, or you want to combine a number of my designs into your own unique gown then I’m more than happy to work together to create something bespoke for you. The first step would be to get in touch, via email is probably best, and send me your inspiration pictures so that I can get to know you and your style as much as possible. From here, I can send you some fabric samples to have a look at so that you can decide on the colour and get a better feel of the fabric whilst I get drawing up some designs. Once we’ve agreed on a design and a quote has been given, you’ll be ready to place your order, I’ll send over my measurement guide for you to submit your accurate measurements (this is where your maid of honour / mother of the bride will come in super handy!!) and I can get started with making your dress.

Do you have any designers which inspire you or your collection?

Galia Lahav dresses have always been my favourite! There are so many incredible designers but every single Galia Lahav dress is just stunning, I don’t know that my designs are particularly inspired by these, The Boho Brides style is a lot more relaxed and bohemian but the cut and fit from Galia Lahav is an inspiration for sure.

Do you have a favourite wedding Movie or rom-com?

Any sort of rom-com and I am there, I love a chick flick, but on the theme of weddings it has to be Bridesmaids!! I just love it, no matter how many times I watch it, it still makes me laugh, and my fave scene has got to be the wedding dress shopping scene, surely!!

Thanks so much Kezia! I hope you all enjoyed a glimpse into the story of The Boho Bride and are full of advise and inspo!

I absolutely love how bespoke the collection is and adding your personal touch, that will really show who you are and make you feel fab on your wedding day.

If you would like to get in touch with Kezia, you can head over to her website, and why don’t you go over and follow her Instagram as well!

If you would like to chat more about your celebration, you can send me a hello and we can discuss all your ideas for your movie wedding.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,
